pro- for; in favor of; on the affirmative side; supporting.
Pro-Boy started purely by accident. We were trying to raise awareness
and funds for women's breast cancer research. We started Pro-Girl.
During the discussion of Pro-Girl, my friend asked,
What about us boys?
That kinda flew over my head for a moment. Let me explain.
With Pro-Girl, we wanted a shirt that any women could wear to show
support for breast cancer research and awareness.
We not only saw
that, but soon we started seeing women wearing Pro-Girl to show thier
sexual preference. (I thought that was great!) We later printed
up a couple of Pro-Girl shirts for my father and I to show support.
We now have Pro-Girl for men.
What about us boys?
I've had many gay friends throughout my life, played in gay mens
basketball leagues and was even the first straight VP of a gay men's
bowling league. I brought in more straight guys than they wanted but
everyone got along just fine.
With Pro-Boy, we wanted a shirt that the gay man could wear to show
support for themselves and each other and, at the same time, help raise
funds and awareness for HIV/AIDS research. Now don't get mad fellas
but I recently saw a gal wearing Pro-Boy cause that's what she's into!:-)
Each month 10% from every Pro-Boy shirt sold will be donated to:
APLA. (AIDS Project Los Angeles)
Our next donation will be made July 1, 2007.
Well, I guess that pretty much tells the story of Pro-Boy.
We hope you check back every now and then to see what's going.
Thank you for you time,
Pro-Boy
